SUPPLY CHAIN INDUSTRY

CADETSHIP

THIS COURSE IS NOW CLOSED.

WHAT IS THE CADETSHIP?

Trying to decide what you want to do when you leave school? Already left and looking for your next step? This FREE Cadetship might be the right choice for you! The unique programme is designed as a career pathway for ambitious young school leavers and job seekers into the Supply Chain Industry - an exciting and diverse industry with varied career progression opportunities.

After a thorough selection process, 10 young people will be hand-picked for their leadership and management potential. They'll attend a four week residential training camp in Wellington before being offered full-time employment under a 2 year Cadetship with a local Supply Chain Industry employer. With an industry so broad, employers could be anyone from small local logistics companies to large international organisations like Coca-Cola Amatil.

Over the 2 years of their Cadetship, they'll be exposed to shifting job roles to gain exposure to different areas of the business - from warehouse operations or logistics to health and safety or project management - all while being mentored and supported by both Future Leaders and their new employer. You can find out more below.

WHAT IS THE SUPPLY CHAIN INDUSTRY?

Have you ever really thought about how that fancy new Apple iPhone got all the way from being designed in America to being stocked at your local tech shop in New Zealand? That's where the Supply Chain Industry comes in!

A "supply chain" encompasses all of the organisations, processes, people, information, and resources involved in moving a product or service from a supplier to a customer. With such a broad, international scope, the industry offers huge opportunities for career progression. The best part is that because it's often overlooked as a career pathway, it's easier to set yourself apart from the crowd with the right knowledge, skills and experience.

The career scope is unlimited, especially now that New Zealand has moved away from manufacturing and
most goods are imported, and need to be managed, transported and distributed.
